Thank you for attending the event

The French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Queensland was pleased to invite you to its New Caledonia and Energy & Resources Series event dedicated to the Tech Project: Re-energising the Nickel Industry through sustainable production on Thursday 16 June.

This event was the opportunity to hear firsthand about the Queensland Pacific Metals (QPM) proposed Townsville Energy Chemicals Hub (TECH) Project. This project is poised to become a leading supplier of sustainable critical metals for the emerging lithium-ion battery and electric vehicle sector, importing high-quality nickel laterite ore for processing in the TECH hydrometallurgical plant from New Caledonia to Townsville. QPM's ambition is to become a global leader in sustainability with a carbon-negative nickel production, no tailings dam, minimal waste product, and a negligible environmental footprint.

As Christopher Gyges couldn't attend the event due to French elections, he was represented by 3 of its collaborators: Yves Lafoy, Official Representative of New Caledonia to Australia, Andre Boudart Director New Caledonia Energy Agency and Augustin Calandreau Energy Transition & Renewable Energy advisor who did an update on New Caledonia's ambitious plan to save energy, develop renewable energy, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions with a focus on the mining sector.

Finally, thank you to Mazars for hosting and kindly providing drinks and canapes, as well as Pacific People Solution for supporting this event.
