French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry

The French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FACCI) was founded in 1899. At the time, Australia’s trade relations with France were almost solely dependent on the export of wool. More than a century later, this relationship now includes a host of many other industries.

The French-Australian Chamber is an independent not-for-profit organisation governed by 15 Board of Directors and comprising of more than 500 members. Our head office is based in Sydney and we also have four other Chapters and offices in Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide.

The Chamber is affiliated with CCI France International, a worldwide network of 120 French Chambers operating in 95 countries.

The Chamber's main mission is to promote our members and help French and Australian companies succeed through information, networking and business support services.

Thank you for attending the Bastille Day Business Breakfast

The French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industryโ€‹ Queensland Chapter was delighted to have you for one of our most anticipated events of the year, the Bastille Day Business Breakfast on Friday, 12 July 2024, in Brisbane.

The morning kicked off with lively French Cancan dances, setting the stage for a morning filled with cultural exchange and insightful discussions. The Governor of Queensland, Her Excellency the Honourable Doctor Jeannette Young AC PSM, then opened the event by welcoming attendees and highlighting the significance of French-Australian relations.

Dr Caroline Riot, Director of Games Engagement and Partnerships at Griffith Business School, offered, afterwards, valuable insights into the legacy of major sporting events like the Olympics and Paralympics. She discussed how these events can serve as catalysts for positive social change, particularly in fostering diversity and inclusion within academic and sporting communities.

A highlight of the breakfast was the following keynote address by Karni Liddell, a revered figure in the Australian Paralympic history and the disability advocacy community. Karni shared her personal journey as an athlete and mother. She emphasised the importance of inclusivity and diversity in every facet of life, especially in the corporate world. Her impassioned plea for greater opportunities for people with disabilities resonated deeply with our guests, challenging them to strive for a more inclusive society ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The event was enriched further by Betty Moinet, FACCI QLD Vice President and Brisbane 2032 Client Success Practice Lead at Esri Australia, who served as the Master of Ceremony, guiding the proceedings with grace and enthusiasm.

Our partner Sofitel Brisbane Centralโ€‹ also helped to make this event a success by putting together a delicious gourmet breakfast, accompanied by Champagne courtesy of our member Wearing Memories Wine Merchantsโ€‹, the exclusive distributor of Royal Riviera Champagneโ€‹!

We sincerely appreciate the support of our Gold Sponsors, Forvis Mazarsโ€‹ and Sanofiโ€‹, and our Product Sponsors, Wearing Memories Wine Merchantsโ€‹La Cache a VinFrance at Homeโ€‹ and Bonne Mamanโ€‹, in making this event possible.
