The French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry QLD Chapter was delighted to host C-level executives from Australian and French organisations at the C-Suite Luncheon during the 2023 Sustainability Forum at EY Brisbane on Thursday 19 October from 12pm to 2:30pm.
The C-Suite Luncheon provided an excellent opportunity for our guests to enrich the discussion on the roles Queensland's energy and minerals sectors in aligning with both domestic and international ambitions on the path towards achieving Net Zero emissions.
We had the honour of welcoming the Hon. Lance McCallum MP, Assistant Minister for Energy, who shared his insights on the government's initiatives and plans for a successful and sustainable future. Nicole Blackburn, Strategy, Marketing & Sales Director, and Gareth O'Reilly, CEO Pacific Zone of Schneider Electric, our main sponsor, enhanced the conversation by presenting their 2023 Sustainability Index report. We also heard from our host, EY, represented by Emily Davies - Senior Manager in the EY Climate Change & Sustainability Services, and from our platinum sponsor, Esri Australia, represented by Betty Moinet - Client Success Manager. Both shared their commitments and future objectives for collaborating closely to address environmental challenges.
Following these presentations, a dynamic discussion ensued among our guests, who engaged with great enthusiasm as they enjoyed a sumptuous and refined meal.
Among our distinguished guests who shared their insights on the topic were Paul Simshauser - CEO of Powerlink Queensland; Rick Wilkinson - CEO of EnergyQuest; Malcolm Richards - CEO of Master Electricians; John Kirkwood - CEO of Seymour Whyte; David Clement - Managing Director of HDF Energy Australia; Sarah Gooley - Queensland State Director of the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies; Brian Lorigan, leader of the Energy & Resources Subcommittee at FACCI and Michael Carreiras - President of FACCI QLD Chapter and Managing Director of OP2 Australia.
We believe these C-suite roundtables are crucial in ensuring that we collectively progress with comprehensive knowledge and an understanding of what is essential to achieve our common goals.
We extend our gratitude to our sponsors, Schneider Electric, Esri Australia and EY, as well as to all our attendees, whose valuable contributions made this event a memorable experience and led to meaningful discussions.
