Honorary Consul of France in Brisbane, Alain Etchegaray has had a long and deep involvement with the French and Australian business communities.


Alain likes facilitating and supporting trade and bi-lateral relationships and connecting companies and individuals on many levels. He is Federal Board member and Vice-President of the French Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FACCI Queensland), as well as a Board member of the Australia Pacific Islands Business Council (APIBC).


Alain is managing an HR consulting company, Pacific People Solutions, which designs and deliver innovative solutions to identify the right talent, grow people and improve organisation’s performance.
PPS is specialised in the mining, energy, utilities and manufacturing sectors with a strong presence in the Pacific Islands - PNG, New Caledonia and Solomon Islands.

Alain holds a Master of Management from an International Business School in Paris (France). His passion for learning and development has led him to complete post-graduate studies in Human Resources at the University of California in Los Angeles -UCLA- and in Organisational Development at Macquarie University in Sydney.

Darren Butler is an experienced executive with a strong background in sales, service and operations; with a clear agenda to bring a positive business improvement/outcome to his customers.

Darren has twenty-five years experience working for multinational organisations (GEC, Siemens, Honeywell and Schneider Electric) across many different roles, and 5 years experience establishing and managing a national start-up business.

Darren is currently the Solutions Sales Leader (General Manager) of Schneider Electric’s Power Systems Division which specializes in Medium Voltage Solutions (Switch Rooms, Substations, Switchgear, Transformers and associated Software Solutions) with a focus on helping customers with their Decarbonization, Sustainability and Energy Transition goals.

Prior to his current position, Darren held the following roles:

- Pacific Zone Sales Leader, Demand Creation with Honey Building Solutions (Environmental/Building Controls)
- Pacific Zone Managing Director of Energy Conservation Solutions (Intelligent Lighting Control Systems)
- Pacific Zone General Manager for Schneider Electric’s Professional Services Business
- Country Manager (Aust.) for Schneider Electric’s Energy Management Services Business
