Event Details

The French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry South Australian Chapter is pleased to invite you to its Aerospace, Defence & Aviation Industry Series, dedicated to Defence security on Thursday 24 March 2022.

Keen for a slice of the $270 billion that Defence will spend over the course of this decade? Heard about the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) but not sure if your business needs it, or how to get started?

It's fast becoming a requirement for suppliers of the defence sector to hold an appropriate level of DISP membership, depending on the goods or services you supply.

With over 1,000 pages of Defence security policy, not to mention a vast number of acronyms to get your head around – it's not surprising that many businesses find addressing Defence security requirements a challenge.

This event will aim to demystify Defence security, highlighting the need-to-know areas and looking at the DISP, including why you should consider it and how to go about it. We'll bring together Defence representatives, Prime Defence contractors, industry associations and SMEs, who can speak to the details of the process, and share their experience in attaining DISP membership.

Offering speaker presentations, two panel discussions, and a fully catered networking session for those in physical attendance, this event will be a valuable opportunity for those wishing to develop their business' protective security to enable them to bid on and win work in the defence sector.

Margaret Law, Chief Technology Officer, Naval Group Pacific will be Master of Ceremony during the event. Matt Opie, Director, Defence & Space, University of South Australia (UniSA) and Brian McAvoy, Head of Protective Security, De Stefano & Co will be the moderators of the panel discussions.

Our speakers include:

  • Jason Savage - Executive Director, Defence Industry Security Office (DISO)
