The French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Victoria was delighted to host our most-awaited 2022 Mazars Arc De Triomphe X Flemington Gala, sponsored by our Naming Rights Sponsor, Mazars, on Thursday 27 October 2022 at SOFITEL on Collins
What an evening! Our Gala celebrated two sporting events that bring the world of horseracing together; the Melbourne Cup Day, held annually at the incredible Flemington Racecourse, and the Arc de Triomphe Horserace, held at the spectacular Paris Longchamp Racecourse, two races that "stop a nation".
Before the Gala's grand opening, guests had the opportunity to network and sip on exquisite complimentary champagne provided by 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗮. Then, a magical Fashion Show that captured everyone's attention opened the evening, in partnership with the iconic Parisian fashion house, Zadig & Voltaire, the Hair Salon, Franck Provost, and the Model Agency, Brooklyn MGMT. The evening was filled with fantastic moments and activities including a fascinating discussion between Jamie Kah, World's top-ranked Female Jockey, Terry Henderson CEO of OTI, and Matt Cumani, renowned Horse Trainer, moderated by Jayne Ivil, Media Personality at Racing.com, and allowed us all to celebrate the Melbourne Cup and the Arc de Triomphe Horserace.
The evening was hosted by Col Cameron, an entertaining Master of Ceremonies and stand-up Comedian who filled the evening with smiles and laughter! He called live in the room an exciting Phantom Horse Race after which the winning table received a prize by Alpine Nature Experience. Silent and Live auctions that drew friendly competition were also on the program. Auctioneer Damian O'Sullivan from Marshall White led the Live Auction where several prizes were auctioned: a 5% share in a promising racehorse Naraajo, donated for auction by OTI Racing, an unforgettable day at Flemington & Sofitel, and finally an aboriginal artwork, donated by John and Myriam Wylie. The Silent Auction showcased renowned brands Franck Provost, Pierre Fabre, Le Creuset, Chum Creek, Zadig & Voltaire, Naos, Spirits of France, OnTheList, Emcee Apparel, Victorian Opera, Living Legends and M. Chapoutier and drew a lot of attention.
We were very pleased to see so many people in person that shared a lot of smiles and interactions between new and old friends!
