Thank you for attending the event

The French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Queensland, sponsored by Corrs Chambers Westgarth, was pleased to welcome you to its Aerospace, Defence, & Aviation event dedicated to the latest drone technology advancements in Australia, the United States, and France, which took place on Thursday 20 June at the premises of our Corporate member Corrs Chambers Westgarth.

This event brought together Josh Bailey, Robotics, UAS & AI Specialist from MirraginScott White, Senior Manager Sales and Marketing Operations, from Airbus; Simon Morris, Regional Sales Manager from Quantum-Systems; and Andrew Crowe, Senior Project Manager - Emerging Technology & Uncrewed Systems from Toll Group, to discuss the role of UAV technology in tackling some of Australia's current and future strategic challenges.

Facilitated by our ADA Subcommittee Chair Petrie Wheeler-Lill, our panellists presented their projects outlining the current state of play in Australia's UAV ecosystem, current projects being brought in to fill capability gaps, and what more needs to be done to keep Australia at the leading edge of innovation in this space . Several barriers to these goals were also identified, largely around our mindset and willingness to take risks and embrace change. New government and private sector investment will be key to overcome these barriers, as well as the evolution in technology to lower cost solutions.

Over the course of the afternoon, various types of drones were showcased, including rotored, fixed-wings, and hybrid models designed for different purposes such as bushfire mapping, industrial inspection, and combat. Cutting-edge technologies like AI-powered swarming, advanced multi-player sensor systems for mapping, and precision navigation were also highlighted, demonstrating the diverse applications of drones in modern industries.

Once again, we express our sincere gratitude to our incredible panellists, and to all our energetic guests for making this event a great success.

Last but not least, thanks to the generous support of our host and the wonderful, hard-working team at Corrs Chambers Westgarth for helping bring this event to life!
