Honorary Consul of France in Brisbane, Alain Etchegaray has had a long and deep involvement with the French and Australian business communities.


Alain likes facilitating and supporting trade and bi-lateral relationships and connecting companies and individuals on many levels. He is Federal Board member and Vice-President of the French Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FACCI Queensland), as well as a Board member of the Australia Pacific Islands Business Council (APIBC).


Alain is managing an HR consulting company, Pacific People Solutions, which designs and deliver innovative solutions to identify the right talent, grow people and improve organisation’s performance.
PPS is specialised in the mining, energy, utilities and manufacturing sectors with a strong presence in the Pacific Islands - PNG, New Caledonia and Solomon Islands.

Alain holds a Master of Management from an International Business School in Paris (France). His passion for learning and development has led him to complete post-graduate studies in Human Resources at the University of California in Los Angeles -UCLA- and in Organisational Development at Macquarie University in Sydney.

Before joining EY, I spearheaded Digital Transformation at Viva Energy and spent nearly three years as CTO and Director at Maximus. There, I supported leaders in adapting and growing by embracing disruption, experimenting with new technology, and ensuring new leadership methods are ingrained in daily practice. I am passionate about enabling leaders and their teams to be future-ready and to thrive amidst the ever-increasing complexity of change that leaders encounter.

My 19-year tenure at Telstra saw my team, spread across 20 countries, deliver services in risk and compliance, strategic execution, productivity governance, CX strategy and NPS measurement, and digital enablement, including the deployment of Tableau, Salesforce, and Einstein.

As an experienced keynote speaker, I advocate for diversity and inclusion, women in Web 3.0/Tech/Data, and the future of work.

She joined EY from electricity distributor Energex where she held a number of senior roles, including representing Energex on executive-level national workgroups responsible for managing changes to market procedures used within the National Electricity Market.
